Celtic fans find the humour as club fly home from Dubai

Celtic fans are always quick-witted, and today’s Twitter action made for good reading.

We’ve talked endlessly about the club’s training trip; the moral cost, the government reaction, the late-night drama. Honestly, it’s all become quickly tiresome.

Inevitably, the fall-out will last an age, but for today, it’s good to see some humour coming out of the ordeal. That was very much the case this afternoon, with the club announcing through Twitter that the Bhoys were coming home.

Celtic are 19 points behind in the league (SPFL), and Neil Lennon will be hoping the controversial trip will help to rejuvenate the squad. The Bhoys cannot afford to drop points, and will be hoping that Gerrard’s side start to feel the heat.

The next job for the Hoops is a Monday night clash with Jack Ross’ Hibs, who sit fourth after 22 games. The Hibees have had their own troubles to seek, with Matt Macey coming in to solve a goalkeeping crisis at Easter Road.

Celtic fans react with hilarity

Celtic could tweet about the weather, and they’d still get hundreds of responses.

Naturally, then, the club’s social media was busy fielding replies. Most, if not all, made reference to the infamous boozing session from the squad’s arrival in the UAE.

They’re not going to forget it quickly, it seems. We couldn’t blame the Celtic social media team if they fancied pints after their efforts this week.
