Tom Rogic’s equaliser at Livingston last night may just have secured nine-in-a-row, and some Celtic fans have been showering him with praise for it.
It’s largely been a season to forget for big Tam. He’s only made 21 appearances this season which is way less than half of the 52 matches we’ve played overall. In those 21 outings, only nine have seen him named in the starting XI. With only three goals to his name too, it hasn’t been the best campaign for him individually (Transfermarkt).
Since the winter break, Lennon has started him in two Scottish Cup matches and only one league encounter. However, he has regularly brought Rogic on as a sub despite him often having a minimal impact on proceedings.
But that wasn’t the case last night. He slotted home a fine Odsonne Edouard cut-back to secure the point, and some fans have been reacting on Twitter to his superhero moment:

Does Tom merit a start on Saturday?
It was interesting to see Neil Lennon state that he wanted to start Rogic last night, only for the player himself to say he wasn’t too keen (Scottish Sun).
However, that was down to the fact he was playing on an artificial surface. This Saturday it’s a much different scenario when St Mirren come to Celtic Park. The Hoops will be playing on Scotland’s best pitch against a side who are likely to sit back and soak up possession.
When St Mirren went to Ibrox back in January, Buddies boss Jim Goodwin said in the build-up to the game that his side would perhaps “park two buses” (Evening Express). He wasn’t joking either as the Buddies slumped to a dismal defeat.
Therefore, they’re likely to come to Parkhead and do the same at the weekend. That could give flair players such as Rogic time and space to get creative in the final third.
If any game between now and the run-in screams like an opportunity for Rogic to play, it’s this Saturday. Even if it’s for nothing more than a reward for his equaliser, Rogic should be given the reigns to have a go at St Mirren.
The supporters have clearly fallen back in love with him, and after a big moment in the title-race, the long-standing Parkhead hero is surely up for another outing.
