The Celtic fans have roared to life on social media after responding to a club tweet on the match report against Dundee United today.
The league championship race is now over after Rangers’ win was officially confirmed. It’s the first time Celtic have failed to win Scotland’s top honour since 2011.
There was always going to be a season in which the league wasn’t won. We were never going to dominate until the end of time, and supporters respected that. However, the Hoops support have also been singing about winning the 10 for years. It’s forever been the holy grail, and the fact it’s been allowed to pass us by so shamefully isn’t on.

It’s why supporters are so agitated about how this campaign has gone. Just losing it would’ve been bad enough. But the manner in which we’ve effectively handed the title to our rivals is simply degrading.
It’s also why many outside the club can’t understand our frustration. It’s why we get labelled entitled, and it’s why others get confused as to why one title loss in 10 has us so irked.
Nobody can truly understand what this season meant to us outside of ourselves. It was everything. For this board to throw it away by refusing to sack a manager so incompetent that the league was gone by December beggars belief.

Celtic sit an absolutely scandalous 20 points behind Rangers. Yes, they’ve only slipped up four times and fair play to them for that. But we haven’t helped ourselves with a lack of pressure placed on our rivals. The Hoops have failed to win 12 of our 32 games this term. We’ve lost both of our derby matches and failed to win at grounds such as Easter Road, Pittodrie, Ibrox, and Tannadice. Results like those lose you titles.
Today was just yet another insult to the fan-base. Only securing a point against United in Tayside in a relatively pressure-free game sums us up. Having a total of 27 shots and failing to score from one of them tells its own story regarding our profligacy.
Neil Lennon may have been sacked a couple of weeks ago. The truth is it was three months too late. For many, they’ll say it was around five months too late in truth. The fact is, throwing Kennedy into the mix was always going to be an exercise of hope.
The Celtic board will have been praying Kennedy managed a run of eight consecutive wins and a Scottish Cup. It likely would’ve eased a touch of pressure and brought back some pride to the club. In the end, it’s likely going to be shown up for what it is – one last throw at winning some supporters back.
Unfortunately for the club, today’s 0-0 draw at Tannadice and the subseuqent surrendering of the title have led to some angry responses. The supporters have come out again to voice their disapproval on the result and season overall. Here’s a look at some of the responses to today’s official match report from the club:
“Don’t tweet again”7
Hopefully plans are underway for a total clear out and rebuild. A new management team and players with the courage to wear the hoops are essential. HH

Do us all a favour. Don’t tweet again until we have a new Manager, back room team and Director of Football. 18 weeks until the UCL Qualifiers. Send the loanees back now and let’s start again. Absolute shambles.

OUR CLUB has to appreciate the level of disgust supporters feel.Rectify it,by announcing a top manager with his own backroom staff. TOP QUALITY.We seen what BR brought, the interest, professionalism and silverware.High standards required BEFORE we spend more of our cash 🍀

Surrendered the 10 to save a few bob and to spite protesting fans who could see what was happening, shameful.

Well I’ll at least applaud your consistency, hand over the title in the same, meek, pathetic manner that’s defined the season. Not an unmitigated disaster though, eh.

Not to seem entitled or anything but losing the league by 20+ points is an absolute disgrace. Had we been competitive could take losing but this been beyond inept. And the worse part is most of the fan saw it coming. #asleepatthewheel

Pitiful end to a desperate season. The board should be resigning en masse. A chance to make history and we didn’t even make it difficult for them. Shameful.

This better be a “semi final loss” moment. I’m disgusted at the way our club has handled this historic season…..could’ve been second only to the ’67 achievement and we do what we do best……cheap short term option. I’m embarrassed and disgusted to be a Celtic fan tonight.
