As we close in on an emotional day as Celtic supporters, it’s clear the fans are consequently furious at Brendan Rodgers.

The Northern Irishman’s departure from Parkhead has been confirmed.

As for Celtic, Neil Lennon has been confirmed as the temporary manager until the end of the season.

But there’s no denying the rage that Celtic supporters feel towards Rodgers. Here, we take a look at just some of the power of criticism Rodgers has been receiving.

You’ll do well to find any support for him

Going by social media reaction, there is little to no support for Rodgers.

He’s lost the love of the Hoops family after previously having the support of pretty much the entire Celtic faithful.

Therefore, giving that up just to manage in the Premier League is a massive disappointment. Supporters have lost that glorious connection they had with the former Liverpool man. Even the fact he was interested at such a crucial time in Celtic’s season shows you how lacking in class he’s been here.

Celtic have an eight-point lead over Rangers and are still on course for a treble-treble. Despite the news of Rodgers’ departure, that can’t be forgotten about.

Supporters deserve another project and another man to believe in. This time, we all just have to hope the next permanent manager isn’t a plastic Celtic fan the way Rodgers has shown himself to be.

The Daily Record has reported that Lennon will have a press conference tomorrow unveiling him as the interim manager. Celtic have confirmed his appointment. He’ll kick off his second reign as manager with a trip to Tynecastle tomorrow night before subsequently facing former club Hibs.

At least the club have some short-term stability.
