Celtic fans on social media have been paying tribute to one of the icons of the club. The supporters have been saluting Tommy Burns on the 11th anniversary of his untimely passing away.

Burns was a legend at Celtic as a player, manager and coach. His passing was marked by the Celtic Twitter account.

The Tweet was replied to a number of times, with one fan going as far as to ask the club to name their Lennoxtown training facility after Burns.

Burns won countless trophies as a player in his time at Celtic Park. He wasnโ€™t as successful as manager, but he did end Celticโ€™s six-year trophy drought with a Scottish Cup win in 1995.

Burns was a key part of the infrastructure at Celtic up until his untimely death.

All at Celtic will be delighted to see that Tommy Burns remains a firm favourite of the Hoops support. Indeed, he was a Celtic fanatic growing up, and it was his dream come true to play for the Hoops.

He will remain a Celtic hero forever.
