After learning that Celtic could theoretically offer £100,000-a-week to a player if they wanted, 67 Hail Hail asked fans on TalkingPoints which player, past or present, they would choose.
Finance expert Adam Williams told 67 Hail Hail that the club’s cash reserves means they could offer £100,000-a-week to a single player, if they wanted to.
While the chances of that happening are almost non-existent, we asked our supporters on TalkingPoints which one of the many players to walk through the Parkhead gates would deserve that accolade.

You have £100,000-a-week you could give to one Celtic player, past or present. Who is getting it?

Celtic fans pick two standout candidates who deserved £100,000-a-week
There were two names that came up consistently in the debate over who fans would have handed £100,000-a-week to.
Henrik Larsson and Paul McStay were the two most popular answers among 67 Hail Hail fans, unsurprisingly, thanks to their incredible rapport with fans.
One user said: “Got to be Henrik my greatest ever Celt, he was absolutely world class.”
Another wrote: “The man in the picture, the one and only Paul McStay.”
This fan said: “Torn between Larsson or Billy McNeill. Both deserve it.”
A fifth commented: “If the idea is to reward stars who never earned what perhaps they should have then…The Buzzbomb…Lennox…”
“Henrik,” added a sixth.
Why Celtic will never offer that kind of money to a player
The Celtic board have been accused of doing anything to avoid spending the big bucks in the transfer window but even the most critical will agree that paying a player that kind of money would be self-sabotage.
Any player earning that kind of money would also be coming in for a big transfer fee, which will also eat into the cash reserves.
This current Celtic squad is in need of a rebuild and therefore needs seven or eight players. One signing on those sorts of wages would stop that happening, and not work out well in the long-term future as players, current and future, would want more money.
