Read MoreCeltic fans' praise for Callum McGregor on Sunday was huge and fully deserved
Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor delivered a performance of real quality for Neil Lennon on Sunday, standing out as the team’s best player against Kilmarnock.
Named captain for the day due to a Scott Brown injury, the 26-year-old really took the responsibility onto his shoulders to shine as the midfield’s dominant presence throughout the 90 minutes.
It was a timely display too given reported transfer links to Leicester City that were reported yesterday morning (The Scottish Sun).
His afternoon in a Celtic jersey would suggest he is perfectly happy in Glasgow and pushing Lennon’s side towards even more trophies.
With 47 appearances so far this season, all of which have been starts, nobody has played more minutes for the Bhoys so far this season.
Despite those efforts he remains as motivated and fit as ever, coping effortlessly with the demands of the Celtic schedule and physicality of Scottish football.
He put in quite the shift against Kilmarnock, helping dig Celtic out of a one-nil deficit to eventually emerge as 3-1 victors and extend the lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 12 points.

These fans were delighted by his performance yesterday, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the player’s 90 minutes and his current status at Celtic…
Callum McGregor is different gravy. Genuinely couldn’t put a price on him, priceless to Celtic.

Absolutely ran the show yesterday while making it look easy. Covered every blade of grass today well deserved man of the match. £25 million wouldn’t buy his right leg.

Callum McGregor was immense today, set the tone with his pressing in midfield and composure on the ball. Being a leader doesn’t mean that you have to shout loud and put in hard tackles like Scott Brown does. He’s a great example of a leader as he will always leave everything
