Celtic’s arrangements for tickets ahead of their trip to Ibrox has been controversial to say the least.
The Hoops have informed season-ticket holders that those who attended the game against Rangers on December 29th WON’T get the chance to return to Ibrox this season.
Instead, the ballot is opened up for season-ticket holders that failed to get their chance last time out. Some fans believe that this is penalising supporters who attended in December. Others believe it’s only fair that the opportunity to go gets shared around. And, of course, others have found it as a chance to have a laugh.
Here, we take a look at some of the funny (and heated) reaction to the ticket news.

Decision was never going to make everyone happy
There are obviously two clear ways to look at this scenario, which is a tough one for Celtic to deal with.
Firstly, you could have fans who got the chance to go to the last Ibrox fixture getting lucky twice-in-a-row. There’s an argument there to question why that should be the case. Especially if other, loyal season-ticket holders aren’t getting the chance.
But that can be flipped too. It can be argued that everyone is getting their chance to go and it’s just a case of luck of the draw. Celtic can be seen as having tried to disqualify supporters for simply having attended a previous fixture.

Regardless of which decision Celtic made here, not everyone was going to be satisfied. If they had chosen to open the ballot to all once again, they would’ve gotten complaints in about people getting to go for a second time.
This is the scenario Rangers have left us in as a club. Their decision to wield the axe on Celtic supporters at Ibrox was petty, and it leads to these kinds of arguments from within the Celtic support.
Hopefully, talks can be had and the decision to whittle down away fans’ allocation during Glasgow derbies can be stopped. It was a ridiculous move from Rangers at the time, and continues to be so nearly one year after it was made.
