Celtic fans have today been reacting to Scott Sinclair’s stunning goal in training this afternoon.
The Hoops posted a video of the fine individual strike this afternoon on Twitter. It comes ahead of Celtic’s pre-season trip to Austria and Switzerland, with many in the squad looking to be refreshed and ready to start proving themselves all over again.

Not many need to start doing that more than Sinclair. The winger again suffered a dip in form last season. It sounds crazy to say considering he still managed 17 goals last term. But there was definitely a notable drop in his overall displays.
But if his goal earlier on today was anything to go by, hopefully, it’s a new leaf for the Englishman. Supporters who seen it have also been giving some reaction to it too, and below, we take a quick look at it.

A fresh start for Celtic’s enigma
A goal in training means next to nothing. It’s the kind of thing that should be dismissed pretty easily. But at the very least, it was good to see Sinclair deciding to go direct in training. The sooner he starts doing it in competitive matches then the better Celtic will be.
Of course, the new season and new manager should provide Sinclair with a clean slate. It’s a fresh start for so many of the current Celtic players, who need to impress Neil Lennon all over again this summer. Sinclair is on that list too.

Not only that, but he also now has some strong competition pushing him for his place. Daniel Arzani, who has World Cup experience with Australia, is a naturally left-sided winger and slots into Sinclair’s position easily. Maryan Shved, meanwhile, can also play in that position, although he may be more dangerous cutting onto his left foot from the right side.
In any case, Sinclair’s spot down the left isn’t as guaranteed as it was last season. All he had to worry about back then was Jonny Hayes in truth, with Mikey Johnston often down with the reserves instead of with the senior side.

The new haircut looks great, but a new air of confidence is exactly what Sinclair needs to look stylish once again. These kinds of video posts from the club are good for the player’s confidence, but in truth they don’t matter. What he does come July ninth in Sarajevo will be what counts.
All we can do is hope that he’s found his form over the summer.
