We’re nearer to February now than we are to December, although the message may have taken a little bit of time to get through to Hoops defender Christopher Jullien.

The giant Frenchman has been to and from Dubai with his Celtic team-mates already in 2020, but only now is he wishing the vast Celtic support a Happy New Year.

Jullien posted the bizarrely timed update on Twitter last night, but his motivational words seem to have done the trick as many issued their response to his rallying call.

Here are some of the best replies that we saw from some Celtic fans on the social media platform.

Jullien has already built a good reputation with the Celtic fans

Jullien is not adverse to a bit of motivational talk on his favourite social media platform.

Earlier this season, he was widely criticised for a post following a damaging defeat to Livingston.

Thankfully now, Jullien is doing a lot of his talking on the pitch as well as via a keyboard.

The big summer recruit from Toulouse has been a tremendous acquisition – and arguably our best defender since Virgil Van Dijk.

He wasn’t the worst performer in our recent defeat to Rangers but the loss will still have hurt him. He and the rest of his team-mates should be totally fired up and ready to do the business over the next five months.

It’s going to be nervy and a bit dramatic. But that’s what the likes of Jullien should live for. It’s why you play the game.
