With Aberdeen refusing to sell, Celtic fans have reacted to Scott McKenna and the speculation surrounding him.

The Hoops had a £3.5m bid rejected for the Dons stalwart. However, the centre-back is dividing supporters who don’t know what to make of him.

Celtic have been linked with both Jeffrey Bruma and McKenna this week. Yet, fans aren’t sure which of the two they would rather have at the club.

Despite seemingly not wanting McKenna initially, it appears sections of the Celtic support feel he could do a job.

Subsequently, Hoops fans are taking to Twitter to voice their concerns over the signing:

It’s clear supporters are mixed with the potential signing of McKenna. However, there’s no denying Celtic are making it an interesting end to the transfer window.

Aberdeen are wanting around £10m for the centre-back, but Celtic won’t be looking to pay anywhere near that.

One potential downside to the deal is McKenna’s injury problems. The commanding defender is out for at least a month with a hamstring injury.

Jack Hendry is concerning Hoops supporters with his inconsistent displays, whilst Kristoffer Ajer is struggling without a consistent partner.

Meanwhile, Dedryck Boyata continues to be on the bad books of the support. Marvin Compper remains out with a long-term injury and doesn’t seem to be on the mend anytime soon.

Despite the hesitancy from sections of the Celtic support, McKenna clearly has potential. He’s one of if not the most highly-rated centre-backs in Scotland. Securing his signature would be a good statement to their rivals.

However, Celtic fans have reacted to Scott McKenna and the speculation surrounding him, with many still need convinced.
