Celtic’s League Cup win over Rangers is, quite rightly grabbing all the headlines today after the epic Hampden final was decided on penalties.

Celtic defeated Rangers on the lottery of penalties after both teams played out a thrilling 3-3 draw over 120 minutes.

Goals from Celtic defender Greg Taylor, Daizen Maeda and Nicolas Kuhn were not enough to get the trophy win over the line in regulation time as Rangers gave it everything to try and end their winless run over the Parkhead club.

But as Daizen Maeda scored the Celtic penalty that eventually won the League Cup, the celebrations started and internet giant, Google got in on the act.

If fans go to the search engine and type in Celtic FC, Google runs a green and white fireworks display with the club crest rising with the caption, ‘Scottish League Cup champions’

It was a nice touch of class that every Celtic fan will appreciate and shows the enormity of the Hampden win that Google felt they had to pay tribute to the Parkhead club.

Celtic is now officially Scotland’s most successful club after Brendan Rodgers secured the club’s 199th trophy in their history.
