Hollywood movie star James McAvoy has taken to social media today to pay tribute to Celtic manager Neil Lennon.

Lennon, who has now won a domestic treble with the club as a player and a manager, is receiving plaudits after Sunday’s Scottish Cup win over Hearts.

The Bhoys boss has been under significant pressure in recent weeks but has again proven himself to be a born winner with Celtic.

McAvoy posted a picture of Lennon at Hampden to his four million followers on Instagram with the caption: “Legend.”

There’s no doubting that.

McAvoy, who has starred in Hollywood movies from the X-Men franchise and appears in current HBO/BBC hit His Dark Materials, is a well-known supporter of the Bhoys.

He’s even appeared in charity matches at Celtic Park in years gone by.

Lennon’s Celtic joy

The Celtic manager allowed himself to bask in the glory of yesterday’s victory when speaking to the assembled press.

As quoted by BBC Scotland, Lennon said: “I would like to dedicate it to Mr Desmond, Peter and the board for their unwavering support over the last few months. It’s been a difficult time and the players – they’ve been absolutely magnificent.

“I’ve been here 20 years and I think I’m the first person to do it as a manager and a player. So I’m in a unique band of one and I’m very proud.”

There’s still hard work ahead of course. Lennon will know that better than anyone.

We can’t afford any slip-ups over the festive period.

Hopefully, though, he’s had a fantastic Monday revelling in the Quadruple Treble achievement.
