Celtic’s Supporters’ Liaison Officer, John Paul Taylor, has apologised to fans after issues with tickets for the Scottish Cup semi-final.
Hoops fans have received an extended portion of the stadium for the game at Hampden, for which tickets went on sale for supporters successful in the ballot on Tuesday.
However, fans trying to buy tickets – which are only available for purchase online – complained on social media that the site wouldn’t allow them to assign client codes, essentially making it impossible to buy tickets.
Anyone who has used Celtic’s eticketing site, or Ticketmaster in general, will be familiar with the queuing system; fans who were unable to buy tickets due to the issues on Tuesday were, very problematically, put to the back of the queue.

“Seems to have been a problem at service provider side but have been advised that it’s resolved and site is up and running now.”
It’s not the only issue to have sparked conversation among Celtic fans about going to matches at Hampden in recent years.
Parkhead fans were unhappy ahead of the Scottish Cup semi-final against St Johnstone last season, when they were told that tickets for that game were digital only and non-transferrable.
This prompted a U-turn when the club announced, after tickets had been sold, that transfers would, in fact, be available. This remains the case at Hampden.
Earlier this season, the Green Brigade and Bhoys fan groups threatened boycotts of games due to an increasing portion of Celtic’s allocation being sold as hospitality for £150-300.
These tickets are separate from stadium hospitality, and instead include a meal and drink at Celtic Park before being transported to Hampden.
The decisions are yours…
Over the last decade, an ever-growing number of fans on the Home Cup Ticket Scheme has made ballots for semi-finals and finals a lottery of sorts.
The semi-final will kick off at 2PM on Sunday 19 April, a re-match of the Premier Sports Cup final in December that no one needs reminding of.
