Celtic has announced that the club’s charity foundation has raised an outstanding £385,000 from the 2022 Christmas Appeal.
This afternoon, the club confirmed the amount raised from the joint campaign between the Foundation and the Football Club.
And thanks to the support of all those involved in helping raise money and awareness of the ‘Share the Magic’ campaign, the 2022 Christmas appeal became the most successful to date.
Each year, the Celtic FC Foundation kick starts the Christmas campaign to help raise money for those less fortunate at this time of year.
Many different events and fundraisers have taken place, such as the Sleep Outs in Donegal, London and Celtic Park or Matchday bucket collections.
The club have also supported the foundation’s appeal by releasing t-shirts paying tribute to club icon Billy McNeil and the Celtic first team have also been sporting the foundation logo on their strips.
These are only a few of the ways proceeds were raised, with the Celtic family coming together to help raise money for those in need at Christmas.
Celtic FC Foundation Chief Executive Tony Hamilton thanked all those who helped this year’s appeal in the announcements, saying: “Against a backdrop of a current cost of living crisis, the total raised by our supporters is absolutely phenomenal.
“Despite their own financial challenges, they have stepped up yet again to help the most vulnerable in our communities.

“My heartfelt thanks go to every individual, every supporters’ club, every Club and Foundation partner, every private donor, every funder, every event sponsor, and all of our colleagues at Celtic Park and Lennoxtown who have Shared the Magic of Christmas with so many children, families and individuals who were in desperate need of assistance and compassion.
“The fact we have achieved our highest ever total is absolutely incredible, but I’m not surprised the Celtic family has gone above and beyond, yet again.
“This is why we were here 135 years ago, and it’s who we still are today. God bless all of you, and I hope you have a very happy and peaceful Christmas.”
Celtic Chief Executive Michael Nicholson also reacted by stating: “The work of the Foundation is fundamental to Celtic’s ethos and continues to make such a meaningful and positive difference to the lives of so many.
“Everyone at the Club is delighted to have supported this year’s fantastic Christmas Appeal. It has delivered great results once more, which will ultimately see thousands of very deserving people receiving important care and support.
“I would like to thank everyone involved for their magnificent backing – all our supporters, colleagues, Foundation staff, Management and players, who have all done so much to make this year’s Appeal such a phenomenal success.”

This announcement is a fantastic reminder of the incredible work that the Celtic Foundation does for charity.
It is also another example of the outstanding contributions of everyone involved at the club, whether that be staff or fans, who contribute to the Christmas appeal every year.
During such a difficult time for so many, people continue to try and help out those in need, and it is another fantastic achievement to reach a record-breaking total.

In the lead-up to Christmas Day and further fundraising events down the line, I am sure the Celtic support will show their amazing contribution by continuing to help the Foundation.
It is yet another proud moment as the club continues to follow their routes of supporting charity.
