Celtic have ended the Scottish Premiership weekend four points clear at the top of the table after Sunday’s drama in Dingwall between Ross County and Rangers.

The Bhoys picked up a confident 3-0 victory at home to St Mirren on Saturday thanks to goals from Reo Hatate, Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah.

The challenge was set for Rangers to reduce the deficit on the road away to County but they have suffered a shock 3-2 defeat in today’s live television clash.

Rangers were actually ahead in the match after a Jack Baldwin own goal from a corner within 15 minutes.

However, the home side always looked threatening and after the interval stunned the visitors with three goals from Simon Murray, George Harmon and Josh Sims.

Despite a late penalty converted by James Tavernier, Philippe’s Clement outfit couldn’t find a way to rescue a point. The victory was fully deserved.

Rangers wilt under Celtic pressure

Yesterday, many Celtic fans were discussing that the Bhoys had put pressure on the Ibrox side to pick up back-to-back victories on the road. They’ve wilted and shown signs of cracking in the title race.

There’s a long way to go, of course. Rangers can reduce the deficit to one point on Wednesday night away to Dundee, but there’s even more pressure on that one now.

Even if they win on Tayside, Celtic could be in the strong position of heading into an upcoming home derby top of the table.

Celtic now have a Scottish Cup semi-final to contend with against Aberdeen at Hampden next weekend but will soon find out their slate of post-split fixtures.

This weekend has resulted in the Bhoys again emerging as favourites to defend their title. It’s a good place to be.
