Celtic have been praised for their recent Glasgow derby win at Ibrox by an unlikely individual – former Rangers captain Barry Ferguson.
The former Ibrox skipper thought that Celtic were the much better team on the day, and deserved to win 2-0 at the home of their biggest rivals.
“It was disappointing a couple of weeks ago against Celtic, but the better team won” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.
“Give Celtic credit”

“I’m not going to sit here and kid on about that. A lot of people say Rangers were poor, but you have to give Celtic credit.”
Ferguson also hopes that both Celtic and Rangers achieve success in the Europa League this season.
“Hopefully the Old Firm go out and show teams from Scotland can still compete in Europe. There are a lot of good players up here. It’s nowhere near as bad as some people make out.”
Win could provide blueprint for Europe

Perhaps Celtic’s performance at Ibrox could provide a blueprint for what the Hoops are hoping to achieve in Europe.
If Celtic play as well as they did at Ibrox, they could pick up a good result in the opening Europa League group stage game, away to Rennes.
However, that will require the team to play with as much discipline as they did at Ibrox, and to not make any defensive mistakes.
That disciplined performance at Ibrox could set the benchmark for what Celtic want to achieve when playing away in Europe this season.
The first test will come in Rennes, and if the Hoops can pick up points from that game it will be a notable accomplishment.
