Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart's latest classy gesture
Celtic goalkeeper Joe Hart is a figure who has surprised many supporters over the last 12 months.
The former Manchester City and Tottenham shot-stopper arrived in Glasgow last year as part of Ange Postecoglou’s squad rebuild.
After several disappointing spells in England and Italy, there were questions surrounding the decision to bring the 35-year-old to the club.
However, those questions were firmly put to bed as Hart became a key member of Ange Postecoglou’s double-winning squad.
Not only did the former England number one display why he was a good fit on the pitch, but also off it, and it was clear to see he is a real leader within the Celtic dressing room.
During his first year in Glasgow, the Hoops support has really taken to Hart after some class gestures to create a brilliant bond with the fan base.
His gestures don’t only go as far as the Celtic supporter, though.
Hart started his career with English League One side Shrewsbury Town and is continuing to have an impact on his former side to this day.
Young goalkeeper Jaden Bevan recently revealed that the Celtic shot-stopper sent over a number of messages and videos with advice after the 19-year-old signed a new contract with Shrewsbury.
He said [Shropshire Star]: “My mum texted Joe Hart, and he replied to her because they know each other.
“He messaged me, and we just talked about it all; he gave me some advice and sent me videos of him talking.
“He was really helpful. He gave me advice on what to do and how to handle stuff, and it was just weird talking to someone of that level as if you’re mates; he was talking to me as if he actually cared when he didn’t have to talk to me at all, but he did.
“He’s where I want to be and doing what I want to be doing in life, so having a chat with him made that seem more reachable, and it made him seem more human.”
Touch of class shows precisely why Ange Postecoglou brought Joe Hart to Celtic
When Hart joined the Hoops, Ange Postecoglou quickly mentioned that he hadn’t only signed the Englishman for his shot-stopping ability but also for his character.
Twelve months on, you can see exactly the point the Celtic manager was making, and he was spot on in his call to bring Hart to the club.
Hart is the ideal role model for any young players coming through at Celtic, and his gesture toward Jaden Bevan displays why that is the case.
There is no better example to be learning from, for Tobi Oluwayemi, than the man he would have watched between the sticks from a very young age.
Fingers crossed, we are able to see several young talents come through the academy under Postecoglou, and the likes of Joe Hart will only help that.
