Celtic are still to officially announce the signings of Hyun-jun Yang and Kwon Hyeok-kyu.
Deals for the South Korean pair are done, with both of their current clubs confirming that the players would soon be off to Scotland.
Both players have been in the Korean media too, speaking about their moves to the champions. That means that we find ourselves in the pretty amusing situation where they’re speaking openly about Celtic, but they haven’t officially been announced.
Midfielder Kwon Hyeok-kyu is joining from K League 2 side Busan IPark on a four-year contract with the option of an extra year. Busan Ilbo say the deal will cost us around £850,000.
Kwon doesn’t seem to be short of words in the media, telling the Busan outlet: “I will be determined to get a starting spot. I will work hard to make the Busan club and my juniors proud.
“I will become the best player in Celtic and go to higher places such as the German Bundesliga and the English Premier League.”

While some in the media are likely to play up his comments about wanting to move to a major league, it’s hardly a great secret. What matters most is what he does at Celtic once he’s eventually announced.
Gangwon attacker Hyun-jun Yang has also been in the media. His quotes were quite similar with him saying: “My club has suffered a lot for them to allow my transfer to happen and I would like to take this opportunity to thank them.
“I’m excited and happy to confirm the transfer at a difficult time, but I also have a heavy heart.” (Daily Record)
So the pair are both sad to be leaving Korea, but they may be staying in Asia a little longer than expected.
On Monday afternoon, Anthony Joseph offered an update on the moves, saying that the pair were expected to join up with their new team-mates in Japan.

While that obviously makes sense from a travel point of view, it will also be great to have them integrated as soon as possible.
They’ve both been playing up until recently so should be ready to go.
Now just get them announced Celtic.
