Celtic currently sit fourth in Europe for clubs with the highest goal-difference, according to The Scottish Sun.
In a surprising stat, Celtic sit on +33 goals after their 4-0 hammering of Livingston on Saturday. That’s well more than the likes of Barcelona (+19), PSG (+22), Bayern Munich (+17), and Juventus (+13) respectively.
The paper has collated data that has Neil Lennon’s men sitting behind only Salzburg, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Ajax respectively.

In total, Neil Lennon’s men have fired home 40 goals in the Premiership this season and shipped only seven. It’s real vindication for Lenny of the work he’s managed at Celtic Park over the summer.
Maker no mistake, this is Lennon’s team now. No longer is he working with a Brendan Rodgers side and having to get a tune out of players he never brought to the club. He’s showing what he was capable of all along after he was given the summer transfer window to rebuild things.
Lennon is doing great work
The fact he’s managed to build a side who have a better goal-difference than Europe’s big-hitters is immense. Even down in England, the team with the biggest goal-differences are Manchester City and Leicester City with +23 respectively.

Granted, we’re not oblivious. We know what we’re up against a weaker standard of competition in Scotland. However, at the same time, we also don’t have the resources that the likes of City, Bayern, and Barcelona have respectively.
This isn’t a stat that should be dismissed. It’s proven evidence of how efficient Lenny’s side have been this season. Even at this stage of the campaign, they look like breaking records.
Rivals Rangers also make the top six, but they remain three goals behind Celtic.

This season, Lenny’s side have racked up some impressive league results. 7-0 at home to St Johnstone, 6-0 at home to Ross County, 4-0 in Aberdeen, 4-0 at home to Livingston – the goals are flying in at a rapid rate. This is particularly the case at Parkhead, where we’ve scored 27 and conceded only two in seven games.
This season has already had its brilliant moments. Hopefully, this is just the beginning.
