Celtic have offered to help re-lay a local football pitch after vandals destroyed the turf by driving all over it.
The pitch, situated near Celtic’s Lennoxtown training complex, is used by local team Torrance FC.
According to the Scottish Sun, vandals drove onto the turf, leaving tyre marks all over the playing surface. The pitch was deemed unplayable and dangerous.
However, Celtic’s warm gesture will be a welcome boost to the youth team, who were left devastated by the incident.

Mindless Vandalism
The Scottish Sun are reporting that Celtic offered to help the local team by relaying the pitch.
Coach David Gibson slammed the ‘mindless vandalism’, stating: “When we went down there my heart just sank.
“We just don’t have anywhere now to play games.
“We don’t have a pitch to call our own.”
However, all was not lost for Torrance FC when their neighbours stepped in to help.

The Scottish Champions, along with turf company Allgrass Scotland, offered to help the local team out.
Although not affiliated to Celtic, the Bhoys felt the need to help out after Torrance’s good work in the area.
A spokesperson told the Scottish Sun: “Torrance sits very near our Lennoxtown training base.
“With the local club being set up with such positive aims to give local kids the chance to play football, it’s very important that they continue to have this opportunity.
“We are very happy to provide some assistance.”

Despite Celtic’s gesture not being all that much, it is a welcome sight that they care about local youth football in the area.
Although it would not have cost the club too much to help out, they have done the right thing by taking care of it.
Torrance FC would have had a hard task relaying the field on their own. However with Celtic’s help, they can now carry on their good work on the football field.
