Josip Juranovic last night delivered a heart-warming message to Artur Boruc last night after Legia Warsaw confirmed a summer departure.
Boruc has been with Legia since 2020 and looks set to end his career there, with Polish outlet Transfery Info claiming retirement is indeed on the cards. The Poland international also spent 6 years with Legia at the beginning of his career.
Juranovic starred in Poland with Warsaw last season before being snapped up by Celtic in the summer. And the Croatian right-back last night delivered the following message after hearing of Boruc’s imminent departure:
Boruc made 194 appearances for the Hoops between 2005 and 2010. He became a hugely popular figure at Parkhead and was arguably one of the best goalkeepers in world football during his time in Glasgow.
The Legia man won as many as 6 medals at Celtic Park during the Gordon Strachan era and will always be remembered for how passionate he was about the Hoops.
Boruc has featured 22 times this season but fell out of favour back in February after an altercation with a camera operator.

It’ll be a shame to see Artur retire, but it always looked as if it was on the cards when he made the move back to his first ever club.
At 42 years of age, he’ll be at the stage now where he’s wondering what’s next for his career. Legia is likely where he sees himself rounding off his stunning playing days.
Boruc left Celtic back in 2010 and to this day is still widely renowned as one of the club’s greatest ever goalkeeper. For a certain generation of supporters, Boruc will forever be their favourite shot-stopper too.
There was something about having him in between the sticks that just gave you comfort. Not just domestically either. He was an absolute stalwart on the European stage and provided us a platform for memorable nights against the likes of Manchester United, AC Milan, and Benfica respectively.
Boruc could’ve left Parkhead for the English Premier League or one of Europe’s other top divisions at any point. He was that good. But there was never any issues over him demanding a departure. He was always fully committed to the Celtic cause.
It would be great to see him return to Celtic Park in the near future if he does indeed confirm his retirement. The reception he would receive would be phenomenal. All eyes now on what’s next for him.
