Kyogo Furuhashi has made a brilliant impact for Celtic not only on the domestic scene but in Europe as well since his move from Vissel Kobe in 2021.

Ange Postecoglou splashed out £4.5m to bring Kyogo to Celtic and since then he has lit up Celtic Park with some really special goals.

In three seasons at Celtic, the Japanese striker has scored 75 goals with eight of those being in Europe either in the qualifying fixtures or in the group stages of the Champions League or Europa League.

But it was what the Celtic striker did against Slovan Bratislava that prompted UEFA to give Kyogo a shout-out on social media this afternoon.

UEFA shout-out for Kyogo’s Celtic goal vs Slovan Bratislava

Kyogo scored a lovely effort against the Slovakian champions in last week’s 5-1 Champions League win:

In response, UEFA gave the Celtic striker a nice little shout-out to which Kyogo sent a wordless response:

Kyogo now adds Slovan Bratislava to the list of teams he has scored against in Europe which includes Ferencváros (x 2), Jablonec, AZ Alkmaar (x 2), Lazio and Athletico Madrid.

Kyogo’s importance to Celtic

With fixtures against Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta up next for Celtic, Kyogo will have the chance to go up and try to score against the Champions League runners-up from last season as well as the Europa League winners as well.

Both teams will represent tough challenges for the Celtic striker but as every fan knows, Kyogo has the ability to mix it and perform at the very highest level after his class goals in last season’s Champions League campaign.

But for now the Celtic striker will be looking forward to nabbing his second goal of the season against managerless St Johnstone as Scottish Premiership league duty resumes in Perth on Saturday night.
