Former Celtic top scorer Scott McDonald will join Western United next season.
The ex-Partick Thistle forward will head home to Australia to join the outfit after a retirement u-turn.
The team are already known to Hoops fans as they failed to tempt Scott Brown in the winter window.
However, they’ll have to settle for the 35-year-old striker.
Scott McDonald going home after long career
Skippy has spent the vast majority of his footballing career in the UK.

Most notably he joined Motherwell before heading to Celtic under Gordon Strachan.
He was top scorer for the club on many occasions but wasn’t able to recapture that form elsewhere.
Now, after many years, Celtic’s former number seven goes back to Australia.
McDonald is expected to be officially announced soon as Partick’s Championship season is now over.
He helped cement their safety in the second tier with a goal against Queen of the South at the weekend.
McDonald made 26 appearances for his country, scoring no goals in the six year spell.

Western United failed to get his former Hoops teammate Brown in the last transfer window.
He’ll now lead the charge for 10-in-a-row at The Bhoys.
Scott Brown stays put at Celtic
There was a whole host of rumours surrounding the captain’s exit from the club.
He’d spent 11 years with the Hoops and fans believed a move away to Western United was on the cards.
Brendan Rodgers eventually helped in keeping the captain in Scotland before departing himself.

Only two years separates Brown and McDonald, showing just how much Broony is in a better place than his former teammate.
Brown clearly made a right move to stay put while McDonald will experience his twilight years at home.
Both were massive figures at Celtic and have given the club many top days.
However, all good things must come to an end, and with McDonald in Western’s ear, another move for Brown could be on the cards in future.
