Celtic holding all of the cards as rivals begin unlikely search for their own Postecoglou

Celtic’s players, staff and supporters can enjoy a stress-free month as our rivals Rangers hunt for solutions to their glaring problems.

Earlier today, the Ibrox side parted company with their under-fire boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst following a sustained period of poor form.

The Monday announcement was anticipated after their poor run, but leaves Rangers in a tough position.

Our rivals trail a near-faultless Celtic by nine points in the Premiership, and have all the work to do to avoid the gap getting even bigger after the break.

The truth is that they find themselves in a similar place to where we were before Ange Postecoglou arrived in Glasgow.

With a sizeable points deficit, disgruntled fanbase, boardroom issues and a playing squad in need of renovation, it’s easy to view the challenge as a tough one.

Rangers will be looking for a figure like Postecoglou. Someone with the personality and experience needed to rebuild a club from top to bottom.

Thankfully, from a Celtic point of view, Ange Postecoglou’s don’t grow on trees. He’s a bit of a one-off and we’re incredibly lucky to have him.

Nonetheless, his revival of our club highlights the need for Celtic to continue to push forward.

We’re holding all of the cards domestically. But Ange wants more.
