Celtic are on the lookout for a new behind the scenes staffer to help Brendan Rodgers.
Rodgers has plenty of staff at his disposal in coaching, recruitment and analysis but it is in the latter position that the manager and club are seeking a fresh pair of eyes.
In a role posted on the Jobs in Football site, the Scottish Premiership league leaders are after a new analyst to help provide tactical and strategic insights on the first-team.
The new post will report directly to the club’s head of analysis already in the door, Craig Dunbar, who has held the position for six years since he arrived in 2019.
It comes after Rodgers recently spoke on an analyst at Celtic in the form of Jack Lyons who the manager credited with helping improve Daizen Maeda’s game.

Celtic are hiring new first-team analyst
And the advert to join Lyons at Lennoxtown read: “Celtic Football Club is currently seeking a First Team Analyst. Reporting to the Head of Analysis, the First Team Analyst plays a crucial role in providing strategic and tactical insights to support the coaching staff and first team players in enhancing performance on the field.”
Some of the key descriptions for the role include responsibilities such as “collecting and organising data, video footage identifying strengths weaknesses and patterns of the opposition and leading preview meetings.”
The candidate, according to the ad, will have a bachelor’s degree in sports science, performance analysis or be other sports and exercise science-related.
They will also need to have a strong understanding and knowledge of vital software such as WyScout which is used widely in football recruitment throughout Europe and beyond.
Rodgers credited Celtic analyst for Daizen Maeda improvement
Rodgers, as mentioned, applauded Jack Lyons for his work with Maeda on the training pitch and in the analysis sessions before matches.
Before Celtic’s 1-0 defeat to St Johnstone, Maeda hit the 30 goal mark for the season.
And the Irishman said: “I think that he [Maeda] works closely with Jack Lyons here, one of our young coaches.
“He’ll focus individually on some of the details on that. His ability to learn is also what has helped him. He gets pointed out items with all the coaches, and we’ll speak to him as a manager.
“Jack will do specific stuff with him as well.”
