Celtic are stepping up preparations for the return of away supporters at Glasgow Derby matches from this campaign onwards.
Obstacles thrown in the way from across the city have meant that no visiting fans have been present at recent fixtures; however, that is now set to change in 2024/25 after an agreement was found to allocate approximately 5% of either stadium to a travelling contingent.
Only one arena out of the two is actually fit for purpose at the minute. Nevertheless, Celtic have the first home derby this time around, so there won’t be any need to reschedule.
Either way, another exciting season awaits, and work has been put in place to ensure the safety of away supporters visiting Parkhead.

Per Football Scotland, tradesmen have been photographed on the ground at Parkhead putting preparations in place for the arrival of rival away supporters once the first Glasgow Derby rolls around.
The outlet suggests that stairs could even be built to handle the occasion following Glasgow City Council’s approval of security gates, fencing works to existing fences, and access steps.
Celtic have also submitted an application for netting that is still being mulled over, which would ensure there are few concerns for the return of visiting fans, something that should’ve happened a long time ago.
Football is forged via rivalry on the pitch and between supporters; there is no better synergy on game day to cultivate a raucous atmosphere.
Parkhead is a cauldron of noise on derby occasions, and that will only be enhanced this season as there is now finally an agreement for followings on both sides to take their place.
