Celtic invincible could be on the move again this summer, despite only joining new club in January

We’re coming to that point in the season where speculation about the future of some players begins to heat up.

Some Celtic players will move on in the summer, both because of permanent fees or because their contract has run down.

The likes of Luis Palma and Maik Nawrocki are among those likely to be moving on from Parkhead.

Several former Hoops stars will also be on the move, and one ex-Celtic hero looks like he may be leaving a side no sooner than he joined them.

Stuart Armstrong could be one of those to leave Sheffield Wednesday

Stuart Armstrong returned to England in January to sign for Sheffield Wednesday following a brief stint in the MLS with Vancouver Whitecaps.

Armstrong has featured 11 times after being sidelined with injuries and fitness troubles but impressed when he has featured.

But, according to the Sheffield Star, the 33-year-old could be one of those to leave Hillsborough.

Having joined on a short-term contract, there is no knowledge if that deal contains any extension clause, but as it stands, the former Scotland international could be on the hunt for another club.

Why did Stuart Armstrong leave Vancouver Whitecaps?

Despite playing over 100 times for Celtic and over 200 times for Southampton, Armstrong only spent a total of 150 days in Vancouver before returning to the UK.

In his Wednesday unveiling in January, the midfielder admitted that despite enjoying his brief stay in Canada, he missed the English game and wanted to make a return.

He said: “I loved my time away in Canada and really enjoyed myself but I missed the English game a bit.

“I did a lot of thinking and decided to come back. It’s a big decision as I hadn’t moved too long ago, obviously to have to move the family back.”
