Celtic invincible Kolo Toure has disclosed that he enjoys working with former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City, the Evening Times reports.

Toure worked as a coach with Rodgers at Celtic before the duo departed the Hoops last year. Toure, a member of Celtic’s invincibles, has revealed that he enjoys working with the controversial manager.

“People want to work with good people. As long as you are a good man, you have good manners and want to bring the best from the players, the players will like you” he said, as quoted by the Evening Times.

“Learning a lot”

“I am very happy with my progression right now, working with Brendan Rodgers. I am learning a lot” he concluded.

Toure didn’t play that many games for the Hoops – only 17 in total – but he was still an important part of the Hoops squad.

That will be one of the main reasons why he was appointed as a technical assistant not long after retiring. His experience would have been vital in dealing with the players, and it is a pity that he is no longer working at Celtic.

Manager never likely to be popular

Brendan Rodgers is never likely to be a popular man at Celtic due to the way he left the club, and that will probably apply to Toure for the time being.

He will also be in the bad books with most Celtic fans for leaving the club in the middle of a title race. Hopefully that will end in time, as he was a very good player for the club in his brief spell with the Hoops.

Maybe if the club does a 10-year anniversary celebration of the invincibles, Toure will get a good reception from the support. That might not be the case for Brendan Rodgers.
