Celtic legend Chris Sutton has given his instant verdict on the Hoops’ 2-1 win over Lazio. The Hoops came from a goal behind to triumph in Rome and book their place in the last 32 of the Europa League.

Sutton took to social media to have his say on what will go down as a famous Celtic victory.

“What a monumental performance. Well done to Neil Lennon. Olivier Ntcham and James Forrest a proper right winger silencing Lazio. Get in” was his comment on the victory.

Celtic’s victory was all the more significant as it is the first time that the Hoops have ever emerged victorious from a trip to Italy.

The hero of the game is undeniably Olivier Ntcham, who scored the winning goal with practically the last kick of the game.

The entire team performed well, but credit has to be given to Jonny Hayes, who has not been a first-team regular this season, but performed admirably on the night.

However, the mastermind behind the triumph is undeniably Hoops manager Neil Lennon. He deserves plenty of credit for the attack-minded way he set up the team. Celtic stayed on the front-foot for most of the game. They showed plenty of courage to come from a goal down.

This victory is undeniably one of Celtic’s best in many years, and credit for that has to be given to Neil Lennon and the Celtic players.
