Celtic icon Scott Brown is casting the net far and wide to find a new opportunity to test himself as a manager after leaving Fleetwood Town earlier in the season.
Brown had a solid debut season as a boss, taking Fleetwood on their best-ever FA Cup run and consolidating their status in English League One.
However, a poor start to the 2023/24 campaign resulted in them making a quick change and now the former Bhoys captain is on the hunt for a new gig.
While he’s out of a job, he’s been visiting elite training centres around the UK to pick up more coaching knowledge that will aid him in this new phase of his football career, including with former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.
Brown has now stated he will listen to any opportunity that comes his way and isn’t going to big-time anyone who comes enquiring about his services.

The former midfielder said [Daily Record, 11/01 print edition]: “I’m trying to get back in. I’ve had a bit of time off and been around a few clubs. I went to West Ham and Spurs, I have got another couple of clubs to get around to as well. I’m just trying to learn as much as I possibly can.
“I’ll apply for a few jobs and see what is out there. Hopefully somebody wants a youngish manager who wants to play the way we can but also win games as well.
“I would go anywhere. There are no ifs and buts, I would literally go and speak with anyone. I don’t really have that ego of feeling I’m too good for anything when I was in League One and got sacked! So I’m willing to listen to anything or go and speak to anyone.”

Brown has enough of a reputation and has shown enough leadership across his career to land another opportunity somewhere. It’ll be very interesting to see where that is.
There’ll be keen intrigue from Celtic fans wherever he ends up, especially if he finds himself north of the border.
There’s still a chance he could prove to be a talented coach.
