Brendan Rodgers’ move from Celtic to Leicester City is reported to be “all but done”.
According to the BBC’s Chris McLaughlin, the Hoops manager has finalised his move to the King Power Stadium after spending the night in the Midlands.
Celtic confirmed earlier today that the club had granted Rodgers permission to speak to the Foxes. Since then, it’s been an anxious wait to find out the results of those talks.

But, according to BBC Sport Scotland’s McLaughlin (11:56), Rodgers’ move is pretty much over the line.
“Brendan Rodgers had talks with Leicester City last night and a source close to the deal confirmed to me this morning that it’s all but done. Rodgers himself remains in the Midlands for now.
“Neil Lennon is likely to take charge until the of the season, at least. Fans outside Celtic Park are extremely disappointed and angry but those I’ve spoken to would welcome back Lennon.”
Sickening
It’s difficult not to go over ground that fans have been over already this morning. But this news comes as a dagger into the hearts of the Celtic support.
Celtic confirmed that Rodgers wanted to “investigate” the opportunity at Leicester. It appears that he’s all but gone if he’s remaining down south at the moment.

For supporters, he leaves at such a crucial time of the season. Celtic are still in the mix for a potential treble-treble and eight consecutive league titles. It’s a pivotal moment towards the club’s march to 10-in-a-row, and Rodgers will struggle to obtain forgiveness from the Hoops support for the manner of his departure.
Sky Sports News has reported that Neil Lennon has cancelled a flight to Doha today. This is clearly in response to the news of Rodgers’ departure. Celtic’s support would most likely welcome back the Northern Irishman, but his countryman has plenty to answer for.
Chris Sutton has also stated that the timing of the move “stinks”. It’s hard to disagree with either. Celtic have an overhaul to carry out this summer, and it’s all Rodgers’ doing.
At the moment, however, it appears we’re all just awaiting the confirmation on this one.
