Celtic have been linked with a move for AEK Athens striker Levi Garcia. The Trinidad and Tobago international forward is being ‘monitored’ as Ange Postecoglou looks to offset the potential of losing Liel Abada in the summer transfer window.
A report in The Sun claims Celtic are ‘keeping tabs’ on the 25-year-old.
Garcia has been at AEK since 2020 and he has scored 14 goals in 28 appearances this season as he helps his side challenge for the Greek title.
In 36 international appearances, Garcia has netted eight times for his country.

Garcia started his career in the Dutch Eredivisie where he signed for AZ Alkmaar in 2105. After making 28 appearances and scoring just two goals, he was farmed out on loan as a young 18-year-old to Excelsior.
With his contract due to expire, he moved on to the Israeli Premier League where he signed a two-year contract with Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona FC. [Wired] I

After just one season, he then moved on to Beitar Jerusalem on a three-year deal [Sports Walla] before eventually ending up at AEK Athens for £1.9m. [The Sun]
Garcia certainly fits the Ange profile. At 25 years old, he still has his best years ahead of him but I would point out that his goalscoring record suggests he’s not as prolific as a Celtic striker should be.
Prior to this season with AEK, Garcia had only scored seven goals in 33 appearances last season. And in 2020/21 he scored five in 26 games. [FB Ref]
Garcia has clearly done enough to catch Celtic’s attention this season and with Ange Postecoglou clearly needing to add a striker to his ranks for next season, it will be interesting to see how this one plays out.
