No sooner had Brendan Rodgers been announced as the new Celtic manager, do we have the first transfer link of his second tenure.
According to a report in TEAMtalk, Rodgers could be looking to tempt Leicester City centre-back Daniel Amartey to join him in Glasgow.
The Ghanaian international (48 caps) joined Leicester in 2016 for £6m and has won every domestic honour in England. He played a small part in The Foxes winning the English Premier League in his first season at the club after joining in the January transfer window of that season.

Amartey’s contract expires on the 30th of June and he is free to speak to clubs. The report says that Celtic are ready to contact his agent amid interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
The Celtic fans will need to get used to these reports this summer. It is common knowledge that the club have handed Rodgers a sizeable transfer bounty and as is the case with every new manager appointment, new signings will be made.

And Rodgers will be no different. Despite having a talented squad already available to him, the new Celtic boss will still be keen to make tweaks that will allow him to improve on what he already has and take the club forward.
As always, with these kinds of speculative reports, we should wait to see how this one pans out. We will be linked with loads of names this summer and we should wait for more corroborative reports to back up future links.
However, the new appointment does add a new dimension to what would normally be a quiet close season and I, for one, am looking forward to seeing some new faces at Celtic Park.
