Celtic left-back Andrew Gutman, out on loan at Major League Soccer side FC Cincinnati, won rave reviews for his performance against DC United this weekend.
Gutman started his first match for the club since the recent MLS Is Back tournament, performing well on the left side of defence in a 0-0 draw.
He’s in his homeland throughout the 2020 MLS season, having signed for Celtic in January 2019.
Work permit issues have prevented him making his competitive Bhoys debut (Glasgow Times), but he has been at Lennoxtown between loan spells training with the first-team.

The 23-year-old is making positive progress and hopefully, with more MLS matches, there will be no future problems at the Scottish FA when it comes to securing a work permit.
After eight games for his loan club in 2019, Gutman has made seven further appearances in total during the pandemic-hit 2020 season across the Atlantic.
As we discussed in July, he has already been catching the eye of FC Cinci supporters this summer.
With Boli Bolingoli on his way out of the club after his recent drama, the irony is we could do with Gutman competing with Greg Taylor for a place in Neil Lennon’s team.

At the moment, we’ll have to make do with the knowledge that the left-back still has two years left on his Hoops contract and has plenty of time to make an impact in Scotland.
For now we can cast our eye towards American opinion and be happy he’s looking like a top talent.
