Celtic loanee Jack Aitchison has admitted that he is enjoying his start to life at League Two side Forest Green Rovers.

The player scored on his debut for the Forest Green in a 1-0 win over Cambridge United. He has revealed that he has already been made welcome by his new team-mates.

“The boys have been welcoming and I’ve enjoyed it” he said, as reported by the Scottish Sun.

“It felt amazing to come on, score and help the boys on Saturday. We dug in, got the points and I’m just delighted that we’ve started to climb the table.”

It is no surprise that Aitchison is already enjoying life in League Two. It is a real chance for the player to get first-team football on a regular basis.

At the moment, there is not much chance of that happening for the player at Celtic. However, playing regular football at the sharp end of English football could do Aitchison good.

You need to be tough and streetwise to adapt to that level of the game, and so far it is paying off for the player.

Perhaps if Aitchison scores on a regular basis in England, it would stand him in good stead when he returns to Celtic next season.

He is still only 19, so there is time for him yet to succeed at Celtic. For now though, it will be all about Forest Green for the player.
