It hasn’t taken Celtic midfielder Scott Robertson long to win over the Crewe Alexandra faithful as he kickstarts a third loan spell in England.

The Parkhead academy graduate is with the League One club in a season-long agreement. This follows two spells in the same league with Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers last term.

During both of those stints, Robertson managed consistent game-time and won the hearts of the fans from either club. And it’s no surprise that he’s done it once again with Crewe.

Robertson made his debut in the EFL Trophy at Shrewsbury just under a fortnight ago. Yesterday, however, he made his league debut with his new club vs the same side at the same venue. And it appears as though the supporters are loving what they saw from the young Scottish talent despite the game ending in a 0-0 draw.

Promisingly, the Celtic man has now managed back-to-back 90 minutes for the first time in December. As he continues to develop at first-team level in a competitive environment, it appears that Robertson is doing all he can to boost his profile.

Consistency the key for Celtic loanee Scott Robertson

The player himself has already stated that he’s planning to return in the summer and fight for a first-team spot. And considering the manager is keeping a close eye on him, he’s done himself no harm in the early stages [Daily Record].

Of course, it’s one game. Robertson managed to put in similar starring showings last season. What he needs to now try and find is consistency. He needs to ensure he’s making himself the star of the show on a weekly basis and continue to catch the manager and supporters’ eyes.

But you can’t whack his start. One league game in and the Crewe fans are becoming highly excited about the midfield talent they’ve acquired for the season.

Take a look at some of the Twitter reactions to his performance below. Evidently, they’re expecting big things from the Celtic man this season:
