Celtic loanee Vakoun Bayo has really picked his moment.
As the Bhoys struggled to a 0-0 win over Livingston, with our need for a striker apparent, the Ivorian has only just gone and scored his first goal in nearly five months.
The Toulouse striker came off the bench on the hour mark in a Ligue 2 match against Grenoble earlier today.
He scored his side’s opening goal five minutes later before assisting number two.
The crucial three points keep them in the hunt for promotion to the top-flight after last season’s relegation.
Toulouse currently sit in second position, two points behind league leaders Troyes.
In truth, Bayo’s loan spell hasn’t been the greatest success to date.
Despite an initial run in the team, he’s only made one start since October. The forward now has just three goals in 12 overall appearances [Transfermarkt].
However, today’s turn might give him a renewed chance in the first-team as the French side ramp up for a title chase.
It’s not like he was getting any sustained chance at Celtic either. He looked like a misfit option for Neil Lennon while at the club and it was no surprise to see him head to France on loan last year.
Hopefully he can now find a bit of form. If nothing else, it’ll make it easier to move him on permanently, even if he has no future at Celtic Park.
