Celtic have announced on the club’s official website that they have extended the season ticket renewal deadline from 1st May to Friday May 29th, due to the ongoing public health crisis.
The update said, in part: “Ever since this crisis has unfolded, our renewal process has continued, with many supporters renewing on a daily basis and of course this continues. However, we know that times have changed considerably for many people.
“We all want to have some sort of normality back to our lives, and we are working hard here to ensure that we can be ready to start next season stronger together. However, we do, of course, recognise fully the real challenges many of you will be facing during this uncertain time and these unique circumstances.
“As a Season Ticket holder you have supported the team and the Club through highs and lows, and we want you to be there again, standing with us next season.
“That’s why we have now extended the renewal deadline from Friday, May 1 to Friday, May 29, for all Season Ticket holders, including Corporate and Premium.”
With many people losing work, finding it difficult as a self-employed person or just furloughed on an 80% income, it’s obviously not the best time to be thinking of renewing a seat at Celtic Park for the 2020/21 season.

That’s especially true when you consider nobody even knows what next season might look like, whether it may be reduced or when it will start.
It’s a hard sell from Celtic’s perspective but they’ll be hoping that by extending the deadline for another few weeks they can maximise the number of people who are in a place to renew.
Whether or not the club will look to set a new deadline beyond May in another few weeks is currently unknown but it wouldn’t be surprising.
Fans could be looking for the club to show a little bit more leeway as what’s going on around us unfolds and develops more.
