Celtic have announced the appointment of lifelong supporter Brian Rose as a new Non-Executive Director.
Just after 7:30am on Wednesday morning, the club released a statement confirming the arrival of digital and commercial expert Rose with immediate effect.
They say that he is currently a Director of Apple Services based in London and has worked in the entertainment and content industry for over 20 years.
Celtic chairman Peter Lawwell is quoted as saying: “We are delighted to bring Brian on to Celtic’s Board of Directors and we believe his knowledge and experience will be invaluable to us as we continue to drive the club forward.
“Brian has extensive digital and commercial experience within leading organisations and we look forward to drawing on Brian’s talent in these areas to add real benefit to the club and our supporters.”
It certainly seems like Rose has been brought in by the club to improve our digital and commercial game.

It won’t be totally clear to the average supporter what that entails, but the club seem to think it’s a good move to bring him aboard.
He certainly has the experience, working as Managing Director of Commercial at Universal Music for 13 years at the start of the century.
He was then head-hunted by Apple where he was tasked with “leading, managing and growing the App Store, Apple Music, iTunes & iBooks businesses”. (MBW)
He’s been with Apple for the past seven years but now arrives at Celtic. It will be interesting to see what impact he can make, and how quickly we start to see some changes in the way the club comes across.
In other news, Celtic are back in action today as we face Yokohama F. Marinos.
