Sunderland’s on-loan Celtic winger Lewis Morgan will be making an appearance in Sunderland’s Netflix documentary series.

The former St Mirren star made the move to the Stadium of Light back in January. Since then, the move hasn’t exactly been a resounding success. So far, the winger has made just six appearances for the Black Cats. He’s failed to register a goal, but does have one assist after an impressive performance against Plymouth.

But, it perhaps wasn’t on his mind when he signed that he was going to be behind the cameras for Netflix.

Sunderland’s successful Sunderland Till I Die series has been a big hit with football supporters all around Britain. And, in an interview with the Scottish Sun, Morgan touched on the fact he’ll be in the new series.

“I’ve made a few cameo appearances so far.

It’s weird having cameras about so often but I enjoyed watching the first series so hopefully, I come across well.”

Hopefully it doesn’t distract him too much

Morgan has of course been sent to Sunderland to help them gain promotion to the Championship. As well as that, he needs to develop his game between now and the end of the season if he’s to make an impact at Parkhead.

With Brendan Rodgers having now departed for Leicester City, opportunities are available for everyone to impress. A permanent new manager hasn’t yet been announced at Celtic. Interim boss Neil Lennon, however, will likely be keeping an eye on Morgan.

The interview with Morgan in the Sun is certainly an interesting one too. He opens up on being fined at Parkhead for being on his phone, as well as who his footballing idol was.

But nobody expected him to appear on a documentary series during his time down in League One. Hopefully, however, he can play a starring role in Sunderland’s promotion run-in before coming back and being a leading man at Parkhead.

Now is the time to impress for Celtic’s outcasts. Opportunity has arrived for everyone in the form of a clean slate.

As for Morgan, he needs to start by bagging some goals and more assists between now and the end of the season.
