After what feels like an age of speculation, Wilfried Nancy is officially the new Celtic manager.
Nancy was confirmed by Celtic on Wednesday night and is expected to begin work immediately.
The 48-year-old will be thrown straight into the action with a league game against Hearts and prove some of his doubters wrong.
On the other side of the pond, MLS experts have given plenty of reason for Hoops fans to be optimistic about this appointment working, including a former Aberdeen player who has first-hand experience of Nancy.

Christian Ramirez says Celtic have got a ‘good one’
Christian Ramirez isn’t a stranger to the pressure Celtic have to face.
The forward spent two seasons at Aberdeen and watched the Hoops win numerous trophies between 2021-2023.
He has also played under Nancy at Columbus Crew, scoring 23 times in 77 games before moving to LA Galaxy in 2025.
How many wins do you expect from Wilfried Nancy’s first five games in charge?
That period was very successful for the Crew, and the 34-year-old has said that Celtic fans will be spoilt by the Frenchman.
Writing on X, Ramirez said: “Celtic snag a good one. Changed the standards everywhere he has been, and will be limitless wherever he is. Excited to see this new journey and style be showcased. Bravo Boss.”
Wilfried Nancy to begin Celtic career with huge game
There will be no time to adjust for the 48-year-old as the games creep up.
He will take training for the first time today, before speaking to the media ahead of this weekend’s top of the table clash.
Hearts are beginning to falter after conceding another stoppage time goal, allowing the Hoops to move level on points with them.
It makes Sunday a mouthwatering tie and one that could decide where the Scottish Premiership title ends up.
No pressure Wilfried.
