Celtic may have to see off a team of Invincibles if they’re to make it to the hallowed group stage of the Champions League this season. Neil Lennon’s side already know the make-up of their first two ties after UEFA’s midweek draws.

We’ll start the new season with an away match against FK Sarajevo before facing them at home a week later. If we progress through that tie then we’ll come up against either Shkendija or Nomme Kalju.
The latter are a very interesting proposition.

Invincibles
The club from the Estonian capital of Tallinn were founded 96 years ago. They’ve won the league title on just two occasions – in 2012 and 2018.
However, their most recent title was won in fashion that will be familiar to Celtic fans. Kalju went through the entire 2018 campaign unbeaten, winning 25 and drawing 11 of their 36 matches. Unfortunately they didn’t manage to win the Estonian Cup though – narrowly losing on extra time in the final.

They’ve also failed to live up to the expectation so far this campaign. Kalju have lost two of their opening fifteen matches in the league and are nine points off the top.
It will be interesting to see how they get on in their first qualifier against Shkendija. Most Celtic fans will be hoping they can come out on top. Estonia is a shorter trip for the players and more hospitable conditions too.
