Neil Lennon should be aiming to drop three starters for Celtic against Ross County.
The Dingwall side travel south on Saturday afternoon following a two-game international break. Despite the name, it was anything but a break for the majority of Hoops stars.
That’s why Lennon should be looking to keep things fresh as The Bhoys aim to get back to winning ways.
Lennon must drop Celtic stalwart for Ross County match
One man that has to be rested is Kristoffer Ajer following consecutive sloppy appearances.
The Norwegian is having a tough time of it of late and sloppy errors are making their way into his game. He’s been playing a lot of football for club and country and deserves some time out to regroup.
Ajer’s downtime could be best served by bringing the versatile Nir Bitton back into the first team. The Israeli is back playing football following his hamstring injury during the win at Ibrox against Rangers.
James Forrest is another playing too many matches
The Scotland international is another player who should be joining Ajer on the bench against Ross County. He is a shadow of the player that burst onto the scene at the beginning of the season scoring loads of goals.
However, since the Rangers game, Forrest hasn’t really been performing to the levels everyone knows. Some time out will allow Forrest to refresh his ideas and allow Lennon to try out other ideas and shape.
Fans are crying out to see young Karamoko Dembele or perhaps Armstrong Okoflex to get a game. This match against Ross County would be the ideal opportunity to bleed one of them into the team.
It’s time to see what Greg Taylor can do for the Hoops
This one is more about bringing a player in rather than putting someone out. Greg Taylor hasn’t played since joining from Kilmarnock on transfer deadline day.
Thus, first choice left-back Boli Bolingoli should spend a match on the bench to see what others can do.
Bolingoli has gotten over a sloppy start to become a first team starter and is beating Taylor to his spot.
However, Taylor must have a showing in the Hoops at some point. He is fresh off a Scotland call but didn’t play and now he deserves his chance to see if he brings a different element to his Belgian competitor.
If Taylor can be half as good as Tierney then Celtic are on to a winner, but we need to find out first.
