Neil Lennon has a few big decisions to make on Tuesday as he finalises his Europa League group stage squad ahead of the midnight deadline.
The Northern Irishman must pick the group of players to take him through all six Group E matches, with the next changes not permitted until the knockout round.
UEFA confirmed a one day extension to registration last week, meaning that all 48 group stage sides have until Tuesday evening to sort their squad.
Who will make the Celtic Europa League squad?
The Hoops have four new players to register since the playoff round against AIK. Fraser Forster, Moritz Bauer and Mohamed Elyounoussi have all joined on loan deals, while Greg Taylor signed permanently from Kilmarnock on Deadline Day.
You’d expect all four to be included by Lennon but that means that some players may have to drop out.
It’s not clear exactly how many men Celtic can register in their List A of players as the rule over homegrown talent is murky. However, it is likely that at least three current first-team men will have to sit out of the Europa League action.
Celtic’s squad for the AIK tie included Jack Hendry and Scott Sinclair. Given that we’ve added options in defence and also a new left-winger, you feel that those two may be likely to miss out. Luca Connell and Tom Rogic are two others that Lennon could leave out while he’s also unlikely to go with three goalkeepers.
Fraser Forster will almost certainly make the cut so it will be a shoot-out between Scott Bain and Craig Gordon to see who takes the second spot.
Whatever happens, we’ll know a little more about the manager’s thoughts by Wednesday morning.
