With Brendan Rodgers leaving Celtic for Leicester City, it seems inevitable that he will be looking to sign a few of his old players for his new club in the summer.
Indeed, the Scottish Sun is already reporting that Hoops left-back Kieran Tierney is a summer target for Rodgers. However, the Hoops board must stand firm and not sell any players to Leicester in the summer.

A slap in the face
It would be a huge slap in the face to the Hoops support if they even considered selling of the team’s key men to Leicester.

There is still too much outrage over Rodgers’ sudden departure for Peter Lawwell and the rest of the Hoops board to contemplate accepting any bid from Leicester.
Players on the radar
As for the players who will be on Rodgers’ radar, you would have to imagine Callum McGregor would join Tierney on that list.

McGregor has turned into a key man at Celtic, and a lot of that is down to Rodgers’ management. Perhaps Odsonne Edouard will also be under consideration, but Leicester already have a number of strikers as it is.
The new manager at Celtic – whoever that may be – will not want any major departures in the summer. The club doesn’t need that when it is hopefully going for nine-in-a-row.
It is time for the Hoops to stand up and be counted. And that means keeping hold for the best players at the club in the summer.
