Celtic need to push the boat out soon and sign up Timothy Castagne from Atalanta.
The Belgium internationalist has been on Celtic’s radar throughout this month. Rumours of a £6million bid never came to fruition, but the Italian club did decide to slap a meaty £10million price-tag on his head instead.
That’s ultimately seen any potential start to die a slow death. But Celtic need to move quickly and nab him soon considering the competition involved.
The likes of Lazio and Swansea City are also looking at him. Swansea have reportedly even begun some transfer talks with Atalanta over the prospect of signing up the right-back.

Celtic look like they’re satisfied to miss out on this one. In truth, however, it’s a deal they should be throwing their might at to get over the line.
Castagne to Celtic would sort out the right-back problem for the long-term. It would allow Mikael Lustig to return to Sweden in the summer and be a terrific learning opportunity for Anthony Ralston.

It’s not often a Belgium internationalist will be available to a club like Celtic. Now is one of those rare occasions, and they can’t let it pass them by.

The right-back is reportedly going to have an offer placed in for his services between £5million and £6million from Championship outfit Swansea.
Celtic should remain a bigger pull and are the bigger club. They have to make their interest known whilst he still remains available and affordable.
It’s an area fans have longed for some quality cover. In Castagne, they could have exactly that, and have to start moving quickly.
