You may have noticed, but Celtic are playing at 3pm on a Saturday this weekend.
When Steven Hammell’s Motherwell visit the east end of Glasgow tomorrow afternoon, it will be the first time a competitive fixture has taken place at that exact time at Celtic Park since early April.
St. Johnstone were the visitors to Glasgow that day, as six different scorers sealed a stunning 7-0 win.

A combination of factors have meant that we haven’t had a competitive Saturday 3pm kick-off in Glasgow since. They have become a real rarity.
In the near six months since the Saints rout, we’ve played early Saturday kick-offs and later Sunday ones.
However, if you’re a fan of football being played at its much traditional time, then the news is good going forward.

After taking on Motherwell tomorrow, we will host Hibernian exactly a fortnight later, while our following two league home games – against Dundee United and Ross County – are also scheduled for a Saturday at 3pm.
Those later two could be moved for television coverage, but that seems a long shot right now.
So pleasing news for Celtic season ticket holders. Let’s pack the ground tomorrow and get right behind the team.
In other news, Chelsea are reportedly set to interview former Celtic recruitment chief Lee Congerton
