Never rule Celtic out.
On a night of massive ramifications in Scottish football, it looked to have slipped away from Martin O’Neill’s men, but a late penalty by Kelechi Iheanacho has kept Celtic alive.
The Hoops have now set up a final day Scottish Premiership decider with Hearts, where only a win will do.
Here are our player ratings…

WOW!!!!
Celtic player ratings vs Motherwell
Viljami Sinisalo- 6/10
Not his best distribution for much of the game, and not his best shot-stopping for the goal… but we’ve seen worse from Celtic goalkeepers this season
Alistair Johnston – 8/10
Johnston has had such a positive effect on the team since returning to fitness. We’ve almost forgotten how important he is.
Competitive, positive and tireless performance from the Canadian.
Auston Trusty – 3/10
Didn’t cover himself in any glory at all with his defending. Not for the goal, not really at all. Made Motherwell’s life easier.
Has had to be bailed out by his defensive partner a fair bit over the last two games.
Liam Scales – 7/10
One of Scales’ best performances in recent memory. Several positive passes in possession, and competitive where his partner wasn’t.
Kieran Tierney – 6/10

Much of Motherwell’s most positive attacking play came down Celtic’s left side, leaving Tierney overwhelmed at times.
Still struggles to link up with Tounekti down the left side.
Callum McGregor – 6/10
Was outfought in the middle of the park several times in the first-half as he continues to raise doubts about his fitness.
After the break however, the captain brought much-needed composure in possession.
Who was your Celtic MOTM vs Motherwell?
Arne Engels – 6/10
Not quite the impact that he had at the weekend, but Arne Engels continues to to make Celtic’s midfield more functional with his energy.
Benjamin Nygren – 8/10
A sensational second-half strike reminded us all why this man is our Player of the Year, coming at an absolutely vital moment in the game.
He did some decent progression of the ball during the game too.
Hyunjun Yang – 5/10
The hosts could rely on a steady supply of free kicks from unnecessary fouls from Yang in the final third. Gave little in terms of creativity.
Accidentally set up Maeda’s equaliser.
Daizen Maeda – 7/10
A stunning finish in the first half came at a crucial time for Celtic. Don’t discredit the movement either, reacting to a ball diverted into his direction.
He offered the typical pressing energy without as much reward against a well-drilled Motherwell side.
Sebastian Tounekti – 4/10
Such a frustrating performance from Tounekti. Wasted several of Celtic’s most critical attacking overloads of the game.
From a positive contribution at the weekend to an abject showing, very much the epitome of his debut season in Hoops.
Celtic substitute ratings vs Motherwell
Kelechi Iheanacho – 9/10
Reo Hatate – 8/10
Anthony Ralston – 7/10
James Forrest – 9/10
Marcelo Saracchi – 6/10
