Celtic players belting out “Simply the Best” inside the dressing room after sealing another league title was outstanding trolling.
The footage emerged on Sebastian Tounekti’s Instagram and showed senior players including Callum McGregor and Anthony Ralston singing the anthem long associated with Rangers and Ibrox.
There was nothing accidental about it either. Celtic’s squad knew exactly what they were doing.

Celtic have earned the right to laugh at Rangers
You do not start singing your rivals’ anthem unless you feel completely comfortable about where the balance of power currently sits.
Celtic have just moved onto 56 league titles and finished 10 points ahead of Rangers. That is why the dressing room felt relaxed enough to turn one of Ibrox’s most famous anthems into a punchline.
The clip was not about respect for Rangers tradition. It was about Celtic players taking ownership of it and turning it into a joke after another title-winning campaign.
That is why so many supporters found it funny immediately.
The symbolism around Rangers has changed, Celtic own it now
“Simply the Best” has been tied to Rangers for decades. It is one of the defining sounds associated with Ibrox matchdays.
Now Celtic players are openly singing it while celebrating another title success. That says plenty about where Scottish football currently stands.
Moments like this only happen when one club feels fully in control of the rivalry. Celtic’s players clearly do.
Had Rangers been dominating Scottish football, there is no chance Celtic players would have felt comfortable using the song in that way.
Instead, the video came across as a squad completely relaxed after another successful season and more than happy to lean into the rivalry.
As trolling goes, it was elite level.
